My eyes have just about recovered from watching Gavin Henson 'dance' to Muse's 'Uprising' on Strictly Come Dancing last week. Painful it was, my precious. The best thing I can say is that at least it distracted me from the artistic interpretation of the song from the singers and band. Oh, my poor eyes and ears.

This is from an interview with Matt Smith by The Times online:

“My poems? I wrote poems about the Wars of the Roses. I was reading a lot of Ted Hughes, Season Songs. They were awful poems. Oh God! ‘Hands outstretched to the open road . . .’ Just awful!”

He wrote poems about the Wars of the Roses. HE WROTE POEMS ABOUT THE WARS OF THE ROSES. I mean, how adorable is THAT? (Oh all right, probably not that adorable unless you're me.) He's officially my favourite Doctor now. *hearts* I don't care if they were awful poems. (They can't be worse than my Piers Gaveston one, Matt. Really. They can't. 'Blood stains your murderers' hands' is a lot more shit than 'hands outstretched to the open road.') I want to read them. I want to know EXACTLY what they were about!

And now I'll shut up and go and get a nice cup of calming tea.

Ah! Two of us! It's nice not to be alone in my Wars of the Roses insanity!

Oh, you are far from alone! You'd think after writing a dissertation on the period, I'd be sick of it, but apparently not...

Oh lor', I think I may have to come back and re-read this when I've poked back into place the brain that exploded out of my head at the Henson debacle, and then flew round the room a little at the thought of Matt Smith adding WOTR poetry to his DW fanfiction! :¬D

I love your icon - most apt!

The Henson/Muse debacle could've been worse: it could've been La Widdie dancing to Muse. Using 'dancing' ironically, of course. ;) I think my eyes and ears would still have been in intensive care had that been the case!
